Over a 15-week period, you will work on a short scene as well as a monologue from established playwrights and screenwriters with an eye toward developing technique.  This process will be built on the basics of the Stanislavski acting technique as well as the guideposts of Michael Shurtleff in his book “Audition.” Some of the techniques include:

    • Focus and imagination
    • Use of the body
    • Active listening
    • Relationship
    • The moment before
    • Conflict: What the character is fighting for

This is not an on-camera class; however, students’ work may be recorded at the instructor’s discretion. Students will receive a syllabus at the first class as well as a written evaluation at the end of the semester.
